Will Smith Gives An Emotional Speech After His Scuffle With Chris Rock During The Oscar Award.

The popular American Actor Who Previously, had a scuffle with Comedian Chris Rock for making a joke at his wife Jade Pinkett Smith, later on, gave an emotional speech after his action.

 

Will Smith when receiving his first-ever Oscar had a tear-filled speech.

 

The 53-year-old star attained  Best Actor at the 94th annual Academy Awards on Sunday, receiving another accolade in his performance as Richard Williams, the father of tennis stars Venus and Serena Williams, In the movie King Richard.

 

The Award Came several minutes after he gave the comedian Chris Rock a resounding slap.

 

In his acceptance speech, Smith said through tears, “In this time in my life, at this moment, I am overwhelmed by what God is calling on me to do and be in this world. … I’m being called on in my life to love people and to protect people and to be a river to my people.”

 

“I know to do what we do you gotta be able to take abuse; you gotta be able to have people talk crazy about you. In this business, you gotta be able to have people disrespecting you, and you gotta smile and pretend like that’s okay.”

 

Will Smith also Shared what his fellow actor Denzel Hayes Washington Jnr had told him earlier on before the award. “At your highest moments, be careful because that’s when the devil comes for you.”

 

Will Smith, also directly apologises to the Academy and his fellow actors for the incident — but failed to mention Chris Rock who he had a scuffle with.

 

“I want to apologize to the Academy. I want to apologize to all my fellow nominees,” he said.
