Spanish giants Real Madrid are well known for acquiring the world’s finest footballers. Their glamorous history alone speaks for itself with the record of ex-Galacticos who have played for Real.

However, it hasn’t been all smooth at Real Madrid over the  years when it comes to signing players.

Losing star man and record goal scorer Cristiano Ronaldo 4 years ago still seems like a void that hasn’t been filled. Eden Hazard was the last big spending signing at Real. Hazard arrived having left a proper legacy at his former club Chelsea but has since then seen his time at Madrid plagued  with injuries. He has no doubt not lived up to his price tag.

Real Madrid let legend Sergio Ramos leave on free transfer after failure to negotiate over a new contract, Ramos joined PSG on a two year deal after over 16 years at Madrid.

Like Losing Ramos  wasn’t enough, Manager Zinedine Zidane also stepped down as manager of the club after saying “the club seemed to have lost belief in him”.

Defender Raphael Varane has become the latest player to bid farewell to the Bernabeu, as he is also about to complete his move to Manchester United after 10 years with the Spanish side.

Real, however have only made one signing so far, with David Alaba joining from Bayern Munich for free.

Mbappe tops the list of prestigious players Real could look to sign this summer. However Mbappe still has a year left on his contract and has a 160 million price tag. Mbappe doesn’t seem keen to renew his contract at PSG according to reports.

With so many star players leaving the Bernabeu this season, the question remains if Real Madrid have enough in the bank to acquire new Galacticos and challenge for silverware next season
