The EURO 2020’s group of death teams played their first round of fixtures as all 4 teams were in action. Hungary hosted Portugal in Budapest as both teams were looking to secure a win in the tie, the game was goalless for over 80 minutes as Hungary had a goal ruled out for offside and Ronaldo missed a sitter in the match, the deadlock was later broken by Portugal in the 84th minute as Guirrero scored to make it 1-0, Ronaldo stepped up late in the game as he scored from the spot and also bagged another goal in stoppage time to secure a 3-0 victory for his side, goals which means Ronaldo now has the most goals in the history of the Euros and takes his total goals for the national team to 106goals.

Group F’s other fixture saw Germany play France at the Allianz Arena in Munich, the Germans couldn’t cope with the attacking flair of the reigning World champions as Mats Hummels conceded an own goal from a Lucas Hernandez ball into the box, French midfielder Paul Pogba was a delight to watch as his partnership with Ngolo Kante ensured their team kept the Germans at bay, that goal was enough to see France claim maximum points and Germany lose their opening fixture in the Euros for the first time.

Focus now turns to the second round of fixtures as  Portugal take on Germany and France play Hungary.
