Bayern have announced the signing of Dayot Upamecano from RB Leipzig, the defender who signed a five-year deal and will join Bayern on July 1.
Upamecano who has been on the transfer radar of several Premier League clubs like Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United, finally ended all the rumours and chose Bayern.
No financial detail was provided, but German media reported that his release clause worth close to 42.5 million euros had been triggered. Bayern’s sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic made it known saying “The Club is happy they’ve been able to sign Upamecano, and are convinced he’ll be an important member of Bayern Munich in the coming years”.
The defender will play out the rest of the season at RB Leipzig, before completing his move this summer.
